UNISON Conference Delegates Invitation

By | Local News | No Comments

Dear UNISON Member,

Every year we send delegates to following UNISON Conferences:

Local Government Conference – An annual conference open to all members of the Local Government Service Group The Local Government Conference brings delegates together from Local Government branches across the UK to discuss and vote on motions relating to Local Government. The conference sets our policies on key issues like pay, terms and conditions, local government cuts etc.

National Delegates Conference – An annual conference open to all members regardless of employer. The National Delegates Conference brings delegates together from all UNISON branches to discuss and vote on motions related to all areas of interest, including austerity, the NHS, Brexit, international issues, changes to UNISON rules etc.

This year we are entitled to send the following number of delegates to each of these conferences:

Local Government Conference – 6 delegates (at least four must be female, one must be under 27 and one female delegate must be classed as “low paid”), We are desperately seeking a low paid and a young member to step forward.

National Delegates Conference – 6 delegates (at least three must be female, one must be under 27 and one female delegate must be classed as “low paid”) We are desperately seeking a low paid and a young member to step forward.

Both conferences will take place in Brighton on the following dates:

Local Government Conference: 17th and 18th June

National Delegates Conference: 19th – 22nd June

Delegates can attend both Conferences.

All transport, accommodation and expenses costs are covered by UNISON and we will aim to secure paid time off from work that should not affect your annual leave entitlement.

If you are interested in attending or would like to find out more, please email andrea.egan@unison.bolton.org by Thursday 22nd March 2018

BOLTON NEEDS A LAW CENTRE

Show your support Friday 2nd Feb

Public meeting with
Maxine Peake and Yasmin Qureshi MP
“More and more families and individuals are finding themselves in positions where
access to the law is being denied them, at precisely the time when they are most
in need of it. Universal Credit, the denial of employment rights through zero hours
contracts and minimum wage infringements and a hardening of this government’s
stance against refugees and asylum seekers all make the [Greater Manchester] Law Centre Bolton urgent and necessary. I welcome and support the initiative
whole heartedly.” Maxine Peake
We want to launch Greater Manchester
Law Centre in Bolton.
If you agree and want to get involved join us!
